thinkproject sets course on the journey of agile transformation with the workshop ‘Agile Basics’

think lifecycle.
think know how.

The company thinkproject specializes in the development and sale of construction intelligence solutions that promote digitalization and efficiency in construction projects.

Thinkproject offers an integrated platform solution for the entire lifecycle of construction projects that centralizes data and information and optimizes inefficient administrative processes through automation. Due to continuous growth and acquisitions, thinkproject is constantly faced with the challenge of integrating new areas of the company, which requires an agile approach and the breaking down of silo thinking.

The Challenge:

The design of an interactive, hands-on remote workshop

A central aim of thinkproject was to work on content from the participants’ working environment in order to develop concrete approaches for their daily work. The participants in the workshop were the employees of thinkproject. The interactive workshop was designed to involve all participants according to their level of knowledge and offer them maximum added value. Due to the tight time frame, the focus was on the most important basic agile content.

The solution:

Practical tools for agile growth at thinkproject

thinkproject relies on QualityMinds for the implementation of the innovative workshop ‘Agile Basics’.

The design of a customized workshop thanks to comprehensive preparation

QualityMinds conducted a comprehensive preliminary discussion with thinkproject to gain a precise understanding of the participants’ needs and expectations. With the help of a preliminary questionnaire and fine-tuning meetings, a clear picture of the participants’ wishes and prior knowledge was drawn. QualityMinds was therefore able to tailor the content and methods of the workshop to the customer’s requirements.

Key Facts

Comprehensive preliminary discussion and questionnaire to find out the wishes and prior knowledge of the participants

Fine-tuning the content and methods of the workshop based on the needs and wishes of the participants

Use of an interactive mural white board for a graphically supported, virtual workspace

Day 1: Introduction to agility: Scrum framework, sprints, trying out the central roles of the Scrum framework

Day 2: Mini Design Thinking workshops, including work on real-life challenges in everyday working life

Conclusion with retrospective to visualize the goals achieved and remaining challenges

“Valuable impetus for agile working” “The workshop was great. Despite the tight time frame and the different levels of knowledge, everyone felt picked up and some participants said that they would like to do such workshops more often. The expertise of the QualityMinds workshop facilitators & moderators left a lasting positive impression. Building on the impulses conveyed in the workshop, we are still active and have created an employee journey with empathy maps in one of our teams in order to develop a better understanding of the needs of our internal customers. In this exciting project, we were able to apply the agile principles of design thinking by first engaging with the people concerned, then making assumptions and finally developing and testing solutions.”

Sebastian Krammer

Head of People Experience, thinkproject

“Fail early and often” “In the workshop, we encouraged the participants to simply get started and try out agile approaches without fear of making mistakes – not in simulations, but based on their specific day-to-day work challenges.
This enabled them to find solutions for their own issues at an early stage and work in a more agile way.
What makes us special at QualityMinds is the intensive preparatory work before each workshop.
We invest a lot of time in discussing and coordinating the content with our customers in advance.
For example, a comprehensive preliminary questionnaire helps us to precisely understand the needs and expectations of the participants and tailor the content and methods accordingly.
Thanks to our many years of experience in conducting workshops in a remote setting, all participants can gain a lot of added value from the workshop and actively participate.”
