The new market infrastructure for large-value and individual payments

One of the largest European national banks, an integral part of the European System of Central Banks, plays a crucial role in the implementation of the monetary policy in the Eurozone. With tasks ranging from financial and monetary stability to banking supervision, the large European national bank is at the center of the European financial system and also works closely with the European Central Bank.

The European Central Bank also initiated the new large-value payment system for international payments, which replaced the old European payment system, which was previously used to transfer central bank money across borders in the monetary union.

The Challenge:

Modernization of the existing payment transaction platform

The challenge was to modernize the existing payment platform to meet increased international and regulatory requirements.
The aim was to develop a robust and technologically advanced platform that supports the latest technical standards.

The biggest challenge concerned the test infrastructure.
A large number of teams of developers, testers and test automation experts were working in the same test environment. This meant that they could unintentionally influence the results of other tests.
In addition, the development cycles were different, so different teams required different configurations of the test environment.

QualityMinds was able to develop a highly maintainable and economical test automation solution and build and scale a modern test infrastructure.

Creating the basis for automated tests.

To facilitate testing and create reliable and reproducible conditions for automated tests, QualityMinds set up a test infrastructure in-house at the large European national bank based on containerization, CI/CD and infrastructure as code.
This provided all project participants with one (or more) personal test environments “at the push of a button”, which could be configured according to individual requirements.
The basis for automated tests was created, which secure various areas in the front-end and back-end of the application.
